Wedding Dress

I love this song. Ive become recently addicted to it. Some of the lyrics may be a little harsh and unexpected but it holds so much truth. I try to apply it to my life and I realize how much I really do use God and I often times don't trust Him. I really love the happy songs about God's goodness, however, I also really like the songs that really convict me and help me reevaluate the state of my life.
I really need to STOP using God and trust Him wholeheartedly and rid myself of my own pride. Because when it comes down to it, everything in life is about bringing Him glory.

I think this song is a must hear for everyone. Below I have the youtube video of the song and lyrcis! Hope you enjoy!

If you could love me as a wife
and for my wedding gift, your life
Should that be all Id ever need
or is there more Im looking for

and should I read between the lines
and look for blessings in disguise
To make me handsome, rich, and wise
Is that really what you want

I am a whore I do confess
But I put you on just like a wedding dress
and I run down the aisle
and I run down the aisle
I?m a prodigal with no way home
but I put you on just like a ring of gold
and I run down the aisle to you

So could you love this bastard child
Though I dont trust you to provide
With one hand in a pot of gold
and with the other in your side

I am so easily satisfied
by the call of lovers so less wild
That I would take a little cash
Over your very flesh and blood

Because money cannot buy
a husbands jealous eye
When you have knowingly deceived his wife

Religion in da schoool house!

http://www.christiananswers.net/q-wall/wal-g010.html

Religious freedom in schools has always been a hot topic. But evidently I have been out of the loop because religion has become more accepted in public schools. When I was younger kids in public school wern't even allowed to pray or bring their bibles. Although alot of religion is more respected now days, the topic of prayer is still a pretty grey area. But thank God that most of those goofy rules have now been abolished!

The link above spills a little more about what is more accepted in todays public schools regarding God and religion. But praise God for another step in religious freedom!

Here are some current legalities regarding religion in public schools:

DISCRIMINATION- School authorities may not discriminate against religious activity or speech.

BIBLE READING AND PRAYER- Students may read their Bibles or other scriptures, say a prayer before meals, and pray before tests.

DISCUSSIONS- Students may attempt to persuade their peers concerning religious topics, just as they may political topics. Harassment, however, (which is not defined) is not permissible.

SCHOOL WORK- Students may use religious themes in their homework, artwork, or other assignments, and such work should be judged (graded) by ordinary academic standards.

LITERATURE- Students have the right to distribute religious literature (tracts, etc.) to their schoolmates on the same terms as they are permitted to distribute other literature.

RELIGIOUS OBJECTIONS- Students may be excused from lessons that are objectionable on religious or other conscientious grounds.

CLOTHING- Students may wear clothing depicting religious themes, and these messages may not be singled out for suppression. They are subject to the same rules as apply to comparable messages.

CHRISTIAN GROUPS- Students religious groups at public secondary schools have the same right of access to school facilities as is enjoyed by other comparable student groups.

STUDENT MEETINGS- Student meetings may include a prayer service, Bible reading, or other worship exercise.

ACCESS- Students may use the public address system, the school newspaper, and the school bulletin board to announce their meetings, on the same terms as other student groups. (This only applies to schools receiving federal funds.)

GRADUATION PRAYER- School officials may not mandate or organize prayer at graduation ceremonies, nor organize baccalaureate services.

TEACHING- Schools may teach about religion, including the Bible or other scripture, the history of religion, the Bible-as-literature, and the role of religion in the United States and other countries. Schools are to be neutral with respect to religion. However, they may play an active role with respect to teaching civic values and virtue, and the moral code that holds us together as a community. Schools may not allow religious instruction by outsiders on school premises during the school day. However, school officials may dismiss students to off-premises religious instruction.

SCHOOL OFFICIALS- School officials, as representatives of the state, may not solicit or encourage religious activity, nor participate in such activity with the students.

SALSA!!

So through the past years I have become quite addicted to the social latin dance that is SALSA! I dont know why I enjoy it so much but every part of it, I love! Im still learning but I love how much of a break from the everyday life I get from it. I hope to continue dancing for a long time and I have every intention of getting better at it. I also as a christian hope to be an example-to be "set apart". Sometimes salsa can be a little "scandal." Those arent my intentions and I fully intend on representing Christ in everything I do, including SALSA!!!

Below is a video of me and my friends learning the "CHA CHA CHA". The chachacha is a latin style of dance! Its alot of fun! Everybody should give salsa dancing a chance!

OH HOW HE LOVES US!
He is jealous for me,
Loves like a hurricane, I am a tree,
Bending beneath the weight of his wind and mercy.
When all of a sudden,
I am unaware of these afflictions eclipsed by glory,
And I realise just how beautiful You are,
And how great Your affections are for me.

And oh, how He loves us so,
Oh how He loves us,
How He loves us all

Yeah, He loves us,
Whoa! how He loves us,
Whoa! how He loves us,
Whoa! how He loves.
Yeah, He loves us,
Whoa! how He loves us,
Whoa! how He loves us,
Whoa! how He loves.

We are His portion and He is our prize,
Drawn to redemption by the grace in His eyes,
If grace is an ocean, we’re all sinking.
So Heaven meets earth like a sloppy wet kiss,
And my heart turns violently inside of my chest,
I don’t have time to maintain these regrets,
When I think about, the way…

He loves us,
Whoa! how He loves us,
Whoa! how He loves us,
Oh how He loves.
Yeah, He loves us,
Whoa! how He loves us,
Whoa! how He loves us,
Whoa! how He loves.

I absolutely LOVE this song! Its such an awesome reminder of God's love for us. This is such a known truth in my life but yet I forget it or take it for granted.
I love the phrase "He is Jealous for me". I don't deserve His love, yet He loves me more than I could ever imagine!

Jason Castro

I was introduced to an awesome website called "Iamsecond.com". This is a website dedicated to sharing the testimonies of celebrities who once lived their lives of endless sin. And they share how God has saved them from their former lives. I love this website because it gives these famous celebrities the opportunity of sharing their testimony to the world and due to their high status people are more likely to listen to them!

Jason Castro is the one in the video above. He shares his testimony about how God is the only one He longs to serve. He longs to serve God during his time performing on stage as well. His life is a perfect example of the integrating of faith and technology. He was once a contestant on American Idol and due to his status from the show, people (his fans) are more than likely going to respond to his story about God's love for them. Technology may not be such a bad thing after all. Through Jason's time on television, people of the world are paying alot of attention to him. And they have the opportunity of being impacted by his life through tv or even the internet.

Michelle Weeks

I recently had the pleasure of interviewing Michelle Weeks. Michelle is the Director of Residence life here at Montreat, as well as the Residence director of Anderson Dorm. She was so kind enough as to tell me her views on the integration of faith in learning and technology. Considering the fact that it is such a broad topic, Michelle chose to share her views and geared them more towards technology. She especially hit on popular communication websites such as facebook. While she agrees that technology and facebook are amazing resources, they arent necessarily as great as people make it out to be.
Michelle agrees that yes while technology can be very useful and is very enjoyable, there are some negative aspects about it as well. Michelle believes that our society is often deceived by these supposed "new ways of connecting", when in all reality we are hardly connected with the two hundred and something list of friends on our web profiles. We say we'll stay connected but there is not much truth to that at all. And another part that we are often deceived by is the fact that we say we are staying connected with our friends but in all reality it doesn't leave the computer screen. The real community is no longer existent.
As a christian as well, I would say that I agree with Michelle's view on technology. YES, it is absolutely amazing, I'm able to keep connected with some long-distant friends, however, it doesn't get any further than that. God created us to be relation able but through more of a community and not simply through a computer screen. Technology is awesome but balancing it out with real solid relationships would be alot better. And I believe we would see a vast difference for the good in society.
