This past weekend, I was given the opportunity of visiting Liberty University with some friends. I was in a huge debate over this. I had the choice of either going home or visiting Liberty. Well, after much indecisiveness, I finally chose to visit Liberty.
It was a nasty weekend, the rain just kept pouring and therefore that made our 4 hour drive a tad bit stressful but we did have some fun singing on the way there. In so many words I would say that we had to make our own fun. The campus was huge and I was immediately hit with the unending list of rules that come with attending this school. I was already unintentionally breaking a rule. I wore a skirt that came above my knees and that would of been a huge "no,no" for liberty students. There is a strict dress code there. I wont list all the rules but they made Liberty seem very legalistic.
In short, I will say that I was extremely grateful afterwards that I attend Montreat College.I don't think Ive ever been so ready to come back. I don't mean to "diss" any one's fondness of Liberty. There were some elements of Liberty I really enjoyed such as the nice people I came in contact with. However, I'm saying that it would never be the school for me. I appreciate my school of freedom to do as I please, while still maintaining the vision of a christian community.
